Amelia's 4 Month Dr. Appointment

October 13th was Amelia's 4 month check up. We were eager to find out how much she had grown, but not so eager about her getting her shots. This visit was with a new doctor. Our initial Pediatrician moved to a practice a little further than we wanted to drive, so we switched to a new office and a new doctor that our friends Jeff and Michelle recommended.

I met Chad there on his lunch break and we were immediately impressed by the waiting area and how clean and nice it was. We had gotten there a bit early and were called back to the room even before our appointment time. That's impressive to me. The nurse was wonderful and she weighed and measured Amelia. Her weight was 14.6 oz and she was 24 1/2 inches long. She is 70% for weight and 51% for height. Her head was 16 1/4" and that is 50%. They were very happy with her measurements and said she's "just perfect!"

Her shots are the last thing they do and I had brought her glow worm to distract her. It just broke my heart to see her smiling at her glow worm and the next second screaming because of the shots. She had 4 shots with 2 in each thigh. It didn't take her long to calm down and she fell asleep on the car ride home. She did get a bit fussy that afternoon and I'm sure was sore. But, she went to bed early and slept great and the next morning it was like nothing happened:)

Fun at the Pumpkin Patch

We had a fun little family outing at the Walden Farm Pumpkin Patch today. It was lots of fun and will be even more fun when Amelia is a little older and can really enjoy all the little kid stuff to do there. They have cute baby farm animals, hay rides, corn maze, craft stations and yummy snacks. And, of course you can get pumpkins. I love looking at the baby animals and can't wait until Amelia is as excited about them as I am:) It was a chilly day, but it was perfect except for the farm was really muddy. You could tell we are kind of city folks...the way we were tip toeing around in the mud. There was a folk band playing and had a great vibe to the place. It'll definitely be a family tradition for us.
