24 Week Belly Shot

Today I am 24 weeks along! The baby is as long as an ear of corn (about 11 1/2 inches) and weighs about 1.4 pounds. This is according to my iphone pregnancy application I have. We did have a midwife appointment this week and I am measuring right at 24 weeks, so that was good. This appointment was more of a touch base and see how things are going appointment. Our medical care has gotten a little more confusing with the events of the past couple months. We initially started the pregnancy going through a midwife and now are sort of sharing care between her and a Maternal Fetal Medical clinic that specializes in high risk situations. The goal is to still be able to use our midwife for the delivery and all the routine things for the remainder of the pregnancy. We LOVE our midwife. I've never had a doctor be willing to spend as much time talking with us and I never feel rushed. But, in the event that I go into very early pre-term labor or have any unexpected complications we will have her in addition to an OB at the birth. We are in good hands. Things are stable with my cerclage, which was the procedure I had done in January.

I am currently still on modified bedrest. I try not to think about it too much and just take each day at a time. It feels overwhelming when I think of how long I have been laying around and how much longer I still will be laying around. But, it's been over 5 1/2 weeks now and surprisingly when I look back on it, it's gone pretty fast. Being on modified bedrest means laying down pretty much most of the time but being able to get up to get breakfast, lunch and dinner. I can take short trips out of the house if I will be able to be sitting down wherever I am going.

Tonight Chad and I went out to dinner. I would say our first "date" out since all this. It felt great to get our and go somewhere nice. We tried out a new restaurant in the area of Nashville called the Gulch. The restaurant was called "Urban Flats". They specialize in flat bread pizzas with lots of different toppings. We got 2 to share...one was fig and prosciutto and another was Hawaiian. Both were delicious! we split a Molten Chocolate cake for dessert and we got 10% off the bill because the fire alarm went off for about 5 minutes while we were eating. So, after our quick dinner out we are back home and I'm back on the couch to watch a movie. We are going to watch "The Secret Life of Bees". I recently read the book and really enjoyed it and have been looking forward to seeing the movie.

Let's see...what else.......I can't think of anything at the moment and we are ready to start the movie. Considering it is 9 at night we had better get started if I have any hope of making it through the movie without falling asleep.

Baby Bedding...Plan B

Okay, so I had posted my baby bedding selection awhile back and now I have to figure out a new plan. I had ordered the bedding on January 1st and was told it could be up to 15 days before it shipped. No biggie.....we had the time. So, around the end of February I started to get a little irritated that I hadn't received it and was concerned because we were moving and would now have a new address. I kept getting the same answer......"You will receive an email when it ships." Finally I got that email on February 4th and was eager for it to arrive on February 9th. UPS came on the 9th and had one small box with 1 crib sheet....which was just an extra sheet I had ordered. No crib set! So, I've been trying to track it down and learned last night that they in fact never fulfilled my order and it is now SOLD OUT and DISCONTINUED.

Actually I'm fine with it now as I have a new idea that I'm excited about and hope will work out. I have some bedding that I had before Chad and I got married and I LOVE the print on it. So, I'm talking with a seamstress about having her custom make the bedding from that! I think I will like this even better, so I'm hoping it works out. It's still bright, fun, cheerful and girly looking. I'll post a picture of what the fabric looks like now.

I have some cute ideas for some wall art that I'm going to have Chad design and I can't wait for it to come together. We have the crib now and just need to get the changing table and a crib mattress and we'll be ready to go!

Oh, another cool thing about the fabric I'm using for the bedding...I have a matching shower curtain....so this little girlie will have a coordinating bathroom. How lucky is she:)

Outing to Target!

This afternoon Chad suggested we get out of the house and go to Target and I could ride the electric wheelchair. The doc says short trips out of the house are ok, but said I have to use the riding cart at any big stores. Fun Fun! We registered for some baby things, although I have to fill in the gaps with some items that I'm sure I need. But, it was pretty fun even though I felt awkward and I hated backing up and hearing it go beep beep beep. You can check out what we registered for at Target.com!

Belly Pic

Never in my life have I willingly posted a picture of my stomach, but here ya go!
I am almost 21 weeks in this picture.

She's Gonna be a Cutie!

Here is a beautiful profile shot of our little girl from the ultrasound yesterday. She's been quite a wiggly little thing lately and is getting lots of exercising kicking her little legs. I love her more every day and I can't wait for her to get here!

We had a follow up ultrasound yesterday which was 2 weeks from getting the cerclage procedure. Everything looks really good with the stitching of the cervix and I was hoping to be able to be back off bedrest, but they want me to remain on modified bedrest alittle longer. That wasn't what I wanted to hear. What they are thinking is that they want to do an ultrasound every 2 weeks to check to see if there have been any changes. They want to get me to 27-28 weeks without any changes before I can resume normal activity and hopefully go back to work. So...that means about 6-7 more weeks.

So, we will keep you all updated on any changes and we really appreciate your continued prayers for keeping our little girl safe and keeping me from going too stir crazy:)
